4 Months Old

This picture is getting cut off but it's just too cute not to enlarge
Time is flying by so fast!  I can't believe the summer is just about over and that my baby is 4 months old.  He is such a big 4 month old.  18 lbs and 26 1/2 inches long (96th and 91st percentiles for his age) is what he's up to now.  He's practically outgrown his bath tub and since he's not quite to the point where he's sitting up on his own I'm thinking it might be hard to switch him to the big bath tub still.  Maybe we'll try the kitchen sink again, but this time with a towel under him so he doesn't slide down toward the center drain again.

Yesterday he received his 4 month shots.  Only 2 shots and an oral dose this time.  He did much better this time.  He cried, but was quickly comforted and laughing again minutes later.  He thought it was hilarious every time I said something to the doctor.  He laughed through most of the conversation.

Logan has quite the mouthful of teeth already.  None of them have popped up yet but I can see six teeth on the bottom of his mouth now.  He chews and sucks on everything.  We recently got him a jumper, but he's less focused on jumping and more focused on putting his mouth on any part of it that is close enough to chew on.

He can handle a little more tummy time now, but after so many minutes he still manages to make it sound like "torture time."  He's managed to roll over three different times but he's not really figured out the exact formula for it yet.  We're waiting to see when he'll truly master this skill.

Logan now has really great hand coordination.  He loves to grab and move anything he can.  He's managed to grab plates off the table if he's sitting on your lap.  The high chair came up from the basement this month, for this reason, so that he can sit in it during dinner time and watch (his new favorite past time - watching us eat).

He's growing as fast as a Sato but only has a 50th percentile sized head (just like daddy as a baby).  Personality-wise though, he seems to be taking after mommy more (if you could actually determine personality by 4 months).  He fights sleep like mommy.  He also just likes to sit and watch.  He's pretty quiet.  When he chit chats with you it's normally not very loud.  He is very relaxed and doesn't cry often, unless it has anything to do with going to sleep.  Although he is getting better in the sleeping department (at least he is this week.  We'll have to see about next week).  He isn't the rough and tumble little guy I half expected.  Of course, it's very early on in his life still!  :)

We're thinking he has hazel colored eyes.  They are an amber brown color in the middle and then grayish-blue on the outsides.  Depending on the lighting, people will say he has blue or brown eyes.

Well, that's our update for today.  :)  Stay tuned for more. :)
