February 2016

Jolie - Running around, talking more, and being a big helper.  She throws away trash, puts her bowl in the sink, and likes to help mommy cook or bake.  Today she proudly announced "I color, I color, I color!" and I looked and she had scribbled on the bathroom door with a red crayon.  I am so thankful for washable crayons because I handed her a washcloth and made her clean it up and she could actually do it.  She has her Daddy's personality of loving to make people laugh and just being super cheerful all the time.  As I pointed this out to Anthony she laughed at something that the other kids were laughing at but she made a point to laugh louder than anyone else.  She loves to look out the window and see squirrels, birds, and any other animals.  When she sees one she says, "I see, I see, I see!"  She folds her hands during prayer and says "amen" but is pretty noisy in family worship and in church so she spends her time in the nursery still.

Elena- Loves wearing skirts and dresses.  She still loves princesses and Rapunzel is her favorite.  She is getting better at counting, coloring, and just starting to draw real shapes and pictures.  She's a sensitive soul and gets emotional easily.  She is sweet and thoughtful.  She is doing great in her first year of Sunday School learning all her verses and catechisms like a boss.  She told me that she thought I should let her eat apple slices on the couch because they aren't messy if they get spilled.  Then she started talking about all the things you can clean off the couch if they spill on the couch.  Then she said, "But not sin.  You can't clean sin, Mom.  No one can clean sin except Jesus."  Sweet, sweet words.
Elena dressed herself in a dress with a skirt as a bottom

Logan - Has a new interest in all things arts and crafts.  He is getting really good with numbers, math, and starting to ask questions about everything.  He asked about fractions and so he is learning a little bit about fractions simply because he's been interested in it.  He has been listening to politics on the radio and when we talk and he says some really thoughtful things or asks thoughtful questions.

There's no better person to snuggle with than Daddy.

  1. I'm trying not to have favorites, they are all so unique in their own ways, their own distinct personalities. Elena is sweet and sensitive like my daughter. Jolie is developing a celebrity personalty - always looks great and genuine. Logan is a very sharp, smart young man - his has two smart parents, so no surprise there.
