Family Shot Fall 2012

Elena wasn't really interested in looking at the camera and we were just using the timer so we ended up giving up after a certain point.  She must have been interested in Logan.

Baby slippers
This week I didn't take too many pictures.  Elena looks like she will be cutting her first tooth soon.  Thumb sucking has turned into thumb chewing and that along with other obvious teething symptoms has me on the lookout for a little tooth.
I've been finishing up the cute little slippers above and trying to block them out to retain shape and as they kept falling off I added the ties.  Not too shabby.
Today I also made my first batch of homemade applesauce that actually tasted good.  Yay!  All it took was throwing out all the recipes I've seen and just trying it out on my own.  It ended up being a lot easier than everyone seems to make it sound.  A pot full of peeled and cored apples, half a cup of water, 30-40 minutes on low, throw them in the blender, and presto...applesauce.
I also made homemade tomato soup this week and it was amazing.  Here is the link if you want to try it.  I highly recommend it!  yum.

This week is also the third anniversary of us buying our home!  yippee!  Praise God for the blessing of living three years in one location!  :)  We still love our house...maybe more than when we bought it.

This week Logan's imagination has been in full swing.  You can hear him driving his fire engines around the house imitating the loud sirens and then he will abruptly stop and run over to the floor lamp and run his hands down the pole as if he were sliding down it like a fireman.  He also uses his imagination when trying to get out of eating his apple slices.  He told me, "That's not a apple, that's a bug."  Of course, I laughed my head off at this response which stopped his whining a little bit, made him smile, and made it easier to eat it after all.  The other excuse he came up with: "Me's got to go to sleep."  This was true...he really did need a nap.
