February

I won't lie.  I'm READY for spring!  I've got the fever.  March is a very welcome sight.

Logan

Mr. Two Teeth
Logan is learning to feed himself foods now.  This is good and bad.  I can put him in his high chair and let him feed himself while I finish up dinner, but now I need to watch him more closely to make sure he's not trying out things that aren't on the food pyramid, like dog food.
He can eat just about anything as long as it's small enough.  He loves it when you share whatever you're eating with him.  He and I will share oatmeal and banana in the morning for breakfast.

He's taken to his cuppy a little too well.  I think he prefers it to nursing since he can suck down a lot of water really fast.

Recently I let him eat cereal while I was cooking and when he was done I brought him into his dim bedroom to change his diaper and put him down for the night.  As I unbuttoned his onesie and looked down I noticed that his belly button had suddenly become an outie!  In the half second that followed my mind raced.  Does he have a hernia?  What's wrong with my baby?   Then I touched it, and discovered that it was just a piece of cereal that fell down his shirt and landed in his belly button.  False Alarm!  :)
On the 24th I took him in to get his 9 month checkup.  No shots this time!  woohoo! All the crawling is making a difference because he fell down to the 75th percentile for weight, but remained in the 90th percentile for height and 25th for head size.  His next checkup will be after he turns 1!  My little baby is growing into a little boy so fast!

Events

Anthony and I went to the youth group's Valentines Dinner at church again this year.  They play the Newly Wed game each year and this year we were drawn to play.  We won.  :)  Some of the questions were:  What is the first car you purchased together as a couple?  What is his dream job?  What did she give you for your last anniversary?  What item of clothing does he wear that irritates you the most?  What is your wife's dream date?  What habit does your wife have that is one of your pet peeves? Etc.  Thankfully they didn't ask "What is your father-in-law's birthday?" again this year because that would have been bad to answer incorrectly since he was in the room.  :)

Anthony took me to the garden show this month and we purchased some seeds and walked around.  They had a pretty big garden with all edible plants that was very neat.
Last week I planted my first set of seeds ("the eight weeks before the last frost" set of seeds).
I'm planning to plant:
3 Herbs
2 types of squash
tomatoes
cucumbers
pumpkins (minis for decorating)
2 types of peppers
cantaloupe
and some flowers (right now I just have marigolds because they did so well last year in my flower box).
(and! maybe some berry bushes if I see some at the store)

I also planted some kind of flowering bush and our Japanese maple in the backyard and three shrubs in the front yard last fall.  I'm hoping to spend more time outside keeping up on my garden and try my hand at pickling and canning.  We'll have to see how adventurous I get (especially with 2 babies three days a week).

The left curtain is the "before" and the right curtain is the "after."
Recently, I finished hemming the curtains in the bathroom so they don't hang down too low anymore. I call them "Cute as a Button Curtains" because I sewed buttons on instead of just running a seem through the center with the machine.

Anthony had a lock-in at the church with the cadet group.  He's also doing a lot of different jobs for the deacons.
Tomorrow, March 2nd, is Anthony's meeting where he presents his advergame prototype and game documents at work.  So far people have been very positive and Anthony has had all kinds of freedom to design and lead this project.  The Lord has been good.  Please pray that this project will continue to advance and that Anthony will continue to have opportunities to show his leadership, innovation, and talent at work.

This month I also learned that you need to be careful about which dentist you go to.  Before we were married I was told I had two cavities in my mouth.  In the roller coaster of moving and working at so many different places and having our insurance changed so many different times (3 times while Anthony was working at SuperVillain Studios alone), I never got into an office to get them taken care of.  Every time I'd schedule an appointment something would change and I couldn't get it done.  This month I finally got in to the dentist.  For some reason, after 5 years of not visiting the dentist my cavities disappeared!  Hmm.  Do we really need second opinions on dental work?  ahhh!
I do need to get three wisdom teeth taken out though.  X-rays don't lie.  Especially when you can feel the pressure of the teeth.

I can't think of anything special happening in March.  Maybe just some beautiful spring weather!
